Whale Watching Coolangatta/Tweed Heads Australia 7th September 2008
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dad’s – we had lots of Dad’s and kids onboard today and what a beautiful sunny and calm day off Coolangatta this morning. Once again, those magnificant Humpbacks didn’t let us down, a pod of two, happily cruising south, rolling and relaxing, then one other whale joined them, this unusual whale had half a tail, very well healed and a very active smaller whale, probably around 4 years old. They cruised in a circle for about an hour, happy enjoying the day, off in the distance another two pods and another pod in closer to Coolangatta, all moving south. Our pod of three eventually decided we were friendly and came to the boat, much to the ejoyment of everyone onboard – especially me !!! They rolled over, spy hoped, two together !! swam under and around the boat – very exciting. No sign of any calves coming through yet.
Sea and weather conditions prevented trips last Thur, Fri and Saturday. Today was sensational. Hope you all like the pic
This has been Carol the Whale Woman – until tomorrow !!
