The weather is starting to cool here on the Gold Coast and that means the humpback whales are on their way !!!  Here we are at the 5th April already -  off Coolangatta we expect to see the Pilot whales coming through first probably in about 4 weeks, then a few Humpbacks will follow slowly throughout May and by the 1st of June the Humpbacks will be well and truly coming through the Gold Coast making their way North.

We will see a slow progression of the juveniles, followed by last years cows and calves and the  breeding males and females and last but not least the pregnant cows,  they come last as they must stay in the Antarctic the longest to feed longer – I’m getting excited thinking about their arrival.

This year we will introduce a package price for avid whale watchers, you will be able to purchase a season pass which will allow you to come onboard upto 6 times during the season, this will save you heaps of money and give you the pleasure of seeing them on their way north to the Whitsundays, on their way back and all the bits in between.  I have been asked by many people to bring this package to you, so I have given a great deal for those who are interested, just give us a ring to purchase your tickets.

If you want to see the Northern Migration, June and July are perfect, they start returning August, a great month as they are very relaxed and tend to come to the boat, my favourite month is August !!  September and October you will see the babies and what a treat that is – but as I say ‘any time you see a whale is a good time – no matter what !’

We are opening a shop in Coolangatta opposite the Post Office, can’t miss us as the shop will be bright blue and yellow and have this big sign that says ‘Cooly Dive’ and Whale Watching, you can buy your tickets there 7 days a week, we open in a couple of weeks – the boys are madly painting and setting up the shop.  The shop will also be a dive centre, first aid training centre, dive training, snorkelling tours etc etc – very exciting.
